The third public participation event for Adare Flood Relief Scheme will take place in Adare Town Hall on Wednesday 29 May 2024 from 4-7:30PM .  The Emerging Preferred Scheme will be presented.  Follow this link for further details.

INVAS Biosecurity will commence their 2nd year of Invasive Species Treatment along the River Maigue in Adare the week commencing 8th April.

Public Consultation Period Closed.
The public consultation period for the Adare FRS closed on 12th December 2023.

Ryan Hanley presented information on the Options Assessment Stage of Adare Flood Relief Scheme (FRS) at a Public Consultation Event in the Dunraven Arms Hotel on Tuesday 28th November 2023.

Members of the local community and wider community who attended engaged very positively with the project team and offered comments and views on the various options presented. Ryan Hanley are currently reviewing responses and feedback received. Public Consultation Day, 28 November 2023.

November 2023
The second public consultation for Adare Flood Relief Scheme will take place in the Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare on Tuesday 28 November 2023 from 4pm -8pm.  Options under consideration will be presented.  Follow this  link for further details.

INVAS Biosecurity have completed the treatment of Giant Hogweed and Japanese Knotweed for 2023 along the River Maigue in Adare.

June 2023
PGL are undertaking Site Investigation works in Turf Quay car park at present. The area will be reinstated to its pre-works condition on completion of the works.

April 2023
INVAS Biosecurity will commence Invasive Species Treatment along the River Maigue in Adare on the first week in May.

March 2023
Limerick City and County Council have appointed INVAS Biosecurity as Invasive Species Management Contractor for Adare Flood Relief Scheme. INVAS will be responsible for control of terrestrial invasive species such as Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed, which are present on the banks of the River Maigue in Adare.

Works Notice
River Walkway & Embankment, Adare
Monday 13th
February 2023 to Friday 17th February 2023 inclusive.
Limerick City and County Council wish to advise users of the River Walkway in Adare of its closure from its access point at St Nicholas’ Church on the N21 to its access point at Popes Quay on the L1423 Station Road to facilitate site investigation works as part of the ongoing development of the Adare Flood Relief Scheme (FRS). The proposed site investigation works at this location are subject to favourable weather and water level conditions.
Any inconvenience caused is regretted.

Following an Initial Public and Stakeholder Consultation, a Constraints Study has been completed for the Scheme.  A copy of the Constraints Study Report is available to view at the following link.

November 2022
Geophysical surveys are complete and intrusive geotechnical investigations have now commenced on site.

October 2022
Priority Geotechnical Ltd have commenced ground investigation works in Adare.

September 2022
Enva have commenced investigation works on the surface water network in Adare.  Works over the coming weeks will include manhole surveys, and CCTV surveys of pipes.  Some works may be undertaken outside standard working hours to minimise disruption to the public, for example along the N21.

August 2022
Limerick City and County Council have appointed Enva Ireland Ltd as the Contractor for the Adare FRS Surface Water Network Investigation.

July 2022
Priority Geotechnical Ltd have been appointed site investigation contractor for Adare FRS and are due to commence on site in Q3 2022.

June 2022
The initial Public Consultation Period for Adare Flood Relief Scheme has now closed. The Project Team would like to thank all who have contributed to date.  A subsequent Public Consultation Day will be held to let Stakeholders and the public know how their observations, comments and submissions were used within the Environmental Constraints Study and the Scheme Development Process.

Topographical Survey Contractors MCDS have been appointed by Limerick City and County Council on 22 February and are due to commence survey work in the Adare area in the coming weeks.
